So far fundraising has been going very well for me and my teammates! We will be doing a couple fundraisers to help with those who are struggling to get all that they need. One we will be doing is a parents' night out at our church. One Friday in April we will be babysitting children who are dropped off for a few hours. I hope the turn-out will go well, pray for that! Also, we are thinking of doing a concert night at a local coffee shop. We've got some real talent here in Montevallo and they are willing to play and sing to help us raise money. One of them is actually our team member, Chris. We might try to sell some jewlery at the coffee shop too, I'm not sure.
I think we have all received our passports as well, which is definitely a relief! There are no shots that are required for Guatemala, but definitely some recommendations we have been given- Hepatitis, Tetnus, and Typhoid Fever. So I'll be getting that typhoid one soon.
Please pray for my teammates as well as for me. Those going for 12 days are: Lindsay, Liz, Tia, Jeremy, and Paige. Those going for 8 weeks are: Chris and Hannah (and me!). We are all trying to prepare our hearts, minds and bodies! God Bless you all!
